In addition to these qualities, abilities, and commitment, every cantor at All Souls Church must have some relationship to either the Spanish, Contemporary, or Parish Choirs.

- animate the sung worship of the assembly
- share in proclaiming the word of God, particularly when acting as Psalmist
- lead the assembly in its songs, refrains and acclamation.
